Verse of the Day

“From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety…” (Psalms 61:2)

This verse reminds me of the times that as a child I got lost in a crowded public place.  The desperation of knowing that you are no longer being watched or protected by your parent was overwhelming to a defenseless child.  One thing that has jumped out at me is that, no matter how lost I felt, the moment I would cry out to my father the response was almost immediately!

You see, the times that I have been lost as a child, I have realized that I was not the only one looking for my father, my father was also seeking and looking for his lost son.  What brought us together was the chilling scream that I would belt out in the middle of a busy place, when I felt lost and helpless.  It was that loud, chilling, and often desperate call that would lead my father right to where I was, and bring me back to the safety of his loving arms.

If you feel lost and desperate today, remember that your loving Father is looking for you too!  Cry out to Him and he will answer.
