One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Deuteronomy 13:1-15:23
Luke 8:40-9:6
Psalm 71:1-24
Proverbs 12:5-7

Verse of the day:

Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress. (Psalm 71:2)

Psalm 71:2 says “Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress”.   Aren’t you glad for that little phrase in the middle which says “to which I can always go”?  I am, and so was Jairus and the woman who touched the edge of Jesus’ cloak.  We read their stories in Luke 8:40-56.

Both Jairus and the woman were in the middle of great crisis.  One’s little girl was dying and one herself was sick and dying.  Somehow the idea came to them, I’ll go to Jesus, and they did.  When they did, God met them.  The woman’s bleeding was stopped and the little girl was raised from the dead.  Are you going through a storm or a battle in your life?  Go to God.  Fall down at Jesus’ feet like Jairus did.  Reach out and touch Jesus like the woman did.  He is our rock, refuge and fortress.  Go to Him!
