One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Deuteronomy 26:1-27:26
Luke 10:38-11:13
Psalm 76:1-12
Proverbs 12:15-17

Verse of the day:

Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult. (Proverbs 12:16)

Annoyances are a part of life. There are lots of things that can annoy us; traffic jams, noisy neighbors, unproductive co-workers, etc.  How do you deal with the annoyances in your life? Solomon tells us that fools are quick to react and to proclaim their displeasure when annoyed. They are quick to become angry and let it be known when they aren’t happy.  But we are called to be better than that. God has given us so much grace and He expects that we will extend that grace to others.  We are called to overlook insults and annoyances when they come our way.  Not every annoyance is worth making a big deal about. Not every annoyance is worth getting all bent out of shape about.  The prudent (or the wise) are able to discern what is worth bringing up and what is better to just let go.

Don’t let your joy be robbed by small annoyances.   As you go through your day strive to give others grace when you are faced with insults, annoyances and disappointments.
