One Year Bible Reading Guide:
Deuteronomy 34:1-Joshua 2:24
Verse of the day:
Joshua then commanded the officers of Israel, “Go through the camp and tell the people to get their provisions ready. In three days you will cross the Jordan River and take possession of the land the Lord your God is giving you.” (Joshua 1:10-11)
Finally, after wandering in the desert for forty years, the people of Israel are ready to make the transition to enter into their promised land. However, for this final transition to begin, there had to be a significant change. Moses was now dead. New leadership has taken command. If there was any question what kind of leader Joshua would be, they were about to be answered in just three days.
Any time there is a changing of season in our lives, whether it is a death in the family, the changing of a job, a graduation, or a promotion, how we leave the current place we are in will have a significant impact on how we enter the next. Joshua had heard from God. He had mourned for Moses. Now it was time for action. In just three days preparations needed to be made because it was time to move. It was not time to doubt, pray, wait, or run. It was time to move forward. Joshua needed to start. Start leading. Start trusting. Start moving. The most significant thing that we can do is to start.
So today, ask yourself, what have I been waiting for? What do I need to start? Was change are you wanting? Start today. Stop waiting for tomorrow. Make the preparations that need to be made and move into who God is calling you to be.
