One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Joshua 5:1-7:15
Luke 15:1-32
Psalm 81:1-16
Proverbs 13:1

Verse of the day:

Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Won’t she light a lamp and sweep the entire house and search carefully until she finds it? (Luke 15:8)

There is nothing more valuable than people. The incarnation proves this very fact. Jesus left the safety of heaven subjecting himself to temptation, testing, and torture. He did that for me, for you, and for this world; he came to “seek and save the lost.” He didn’t make that epic leap for power, money, or fame; he did it for us. You see, there is nothing more valuable than people. And because that’s true he is carefully and tenaciously searching for his treasure. If you are a follower of Jesus today, you know the joy of being found by your Savior!

Today, I gratefully think of people like my mom and dad, Jerry, Larry, and Joel who wouldn’t let me fall through the cracks of life. God used each one of them to point me to him.  I thank God for them.

But what about the people around you; the people you will come in contact with today? How will God use you to impact their lives? How can you be a part of this greatest of treasure hunts?

Today’s challenge is simple: prayerfully and carefully let your “light” shine.  Let people see Christ in you and let people hear about Christ through you. Tell someone today how Jesus found you.
