Verse of the day:
When they came to a place called The Skull, they nailed him to the cross. And the criminals were also crucified—one on his right and one on his left. (Luke 23:33)
Luke 23:26 says, “As they led Jesus away, a man named Simon, who was from Cyrene, happened to be coming in from the countryside. The soldiers seized him and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.” I wonder what Simon was thinking when he carried Jesus’ cross. I don’t know, but chances are Simon did not forget that day he carried Jesus’ cross. I’m sure it was etched in his mind.
A whole week has passed since Good Friday and Easter, but hopefully the cross is still on your minds. The cross isn’t just something we think about once a year. The cross affected Simon and it has affected us. It is something that should be etched on our hearts and minds all year round. The cross is central to the Christian life. Be thankful always for what Jesus did for you on the cross. Don’t forget the cross.
If you don’t know Jesus as your Savior, it all starts at the cross. Jesus loves you so much that he died for you on the cross so you could be forgiven of your sins. Find out more about accepting Jesus as your Savior HERE. Thank you God, for the cross.
