One Year Bible Reading Guide:

2 Samuel 18:1-19:10
John 20:1-31
Psalm 119:153-176
Proverbs 16:14-15

Verse of the day:
“Peace be with you,” he said. (John 20:26)

“Peace be with you” – These four simple words, interconnected to each other, are so profound in the midst of loss and chaos.  Jesus seems to know exactly what you need to hear and the precise moment when you need to hear it.

We don’t know the reasons why Jesus made a ghostly trip back to town, however, it seems like Thomas wasn’t present when Jesus first showed himself to the Apostles.  He wanted Thomas to experience what the others experienced before, but this time He came close and personal and had Thomas touch His wounds.  WOW!  The guy who had open wounds, and experience the most grueling death anyone can experience, is the same guy who wishing us peace.

Here is the point; Jesus understands chaos and doubt because he has experienced it first hand.  If you have Jesus inside of you, you have assurance and peace with you.  Don’t go anywhere without Jesus.  He understands problems, heartaches, and hard situations, but yet, he is the Prince of Peace.  When you doubt if Jesus understands pain, remind yourself of His wounds.  They will tell the story of a God who went through human pain.  Let the prince of peace reign in your heart and you will know that peace that surpasses all human understanding, and the assurance that he is real in the time of pain and chaos.
