One Year Bible Reading Guide:

1 Chronicles 19:1-21:30
Romans 2:25-3:8
Psalm 11:1-7
Proverbs 19:10-12

Verse of the day:

For the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face. (Psalm 11:7)

Although David was God’s anointed king that didn’t always keep him safe from experiencing injustice during his life. Whether it was from jealous leaders like Saul or the people closest to him like his son Absalom he was not immune.  David during those times put his trust in God.  He knew that God was greater than anything his enemies could bring against him.

As long as we live in a sinful world we can expect injustice.  It wasn’t fair when David experienced it and it won’t be fair when we experience it but we can count on it happening.  When we put our faith in God it helps us hold on to hope and not let the fear of the situation overwhelm us. When people betray you or you face injustice remember that God’s character is stable. We can count on His righteousness, and that He is just.  We can count on Him being a safe place to run to.

When the world around you is crumbling and you wish that you could find a safe place to hide remember that God is still in control. Let Him vindicate you without taking matters into your own hands.  He will restore justice in His perfect time.
