One Year Bible Reading Guide:

2 Chronicles 26:1-28:27
Romans 13:1-14
Psalm 23:1-6
Proverbs 20:11

Verse of the day:

Uzziah sought God during the days of Zechariah, who taught him to fear God. And as long as the king sought guidance from the Lord, God gave him success. (2 Chronicles 26:5)

Uzziah became king at the age of just 16. Since he was only a young man, he relied up on mentors and leaders to give guidance in his life. Zechariah was the priest and help to guide and mentor Uzziah’s early years. Zechariah taught him to fear God and to seek guidance from Him.

No matter how old we are, we all need elders, mentors and wise friends to help up in our life and in our relationship with God. It is great to have someone we can bounce ideas off of, someone we can confide our concerns with, and someone that can show us the way. For some of us we call these people fathers. It could be your natural father or a spiritual father that has adopted you.

Look around your life today. Who are the more seasoned and more experienced people that are pouring into your life? Do you have any? If you do, thank God today for them. If you don’t, begin today to pray that God will bring them into your life. God will give us success, when we seek guidance from the Lord.
