Truth, Who? // Saturday, September 13

Posted: Saturday, September 13

One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Isaiah 12:1-14:32
2 Corinthians 13:1-14
Psalm 57:1-11
Proverbs 23:9-11

Verse of the day:

For we cannot oppose the truth, but must always stand for the truth (2 Corinthians 13:8)

Truth is this concept that fascinates me. As much as we want to hide it, truth always wants to break free. And it does, truth can never be fully suppressed. It always shines through. We often think of truth as being a what. A philosophy, a way of thinking, morals. But really, truth is a who. It’s Jesus Christ. He said so himself when he said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

As followers of Christ, we are daily combatting anti truths. Living in a world that is very distant from truth, and often believes what is opposite of truth to be the right way, we can find it very hard to live our lives based on truth. It’s easy to compromise and do things based on what may feel normal. But as Paul explains, truth cannot be opposed. Eventually, truth always breakthrough and is exposed.

Truth cannot be hidden. Jesus said in Luke 8:17, “All that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all.” Stand on the side of truth. Live a life that reflects God’s way and stands for truth. If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything and truth will always prevail. Jesus is truth, and his way brings life and restoration. In a world where anti truths reign as the right way, make a stand to do what is right. It’s not easy, but living in truth will always lead to a life that is justified and exalted. Truth always breaks through, so take a stand, and don’t oppose it. Fill ever crevasse with truth and discover a more complete life.
