Setting Up The Younglings // Sunday, September 21

Verse of the day:
The father of godly children has cause for joy. What a pleasure to have children who are wise. (Proverbs 23:24)
Let me start by saying I’m not a Father, and no, this is not an announcement that we’re expecting. I do however love kids and love doing ministry and hanging out with them. One of the most precious things I’ve ever seen is kids excited and vigorous to know God. It truly is something special to witness a kid who is curious about Jesus, salvation, the Holy Spirit, and see that little tike desire to know God through a thriving relationship.
I’m so thankful to my parents for raising me in a home where God, faith, and the church body were a priority. I’m thankful for the high standard they set early on for me and that I have that foundation to live the rest of my life with. I have been spared from making a lot of bad decisions because my parents laid out the Godly way for me. Kids don't just magically turn into Christ followers. We must be intentional about developing the next generation through our actions and influence. Our choices today determine our tomorrows.
As parents and members of the church, it’s a priority and mission to make sure our kids understand and have a vibrant real relationship with God. What are you doing today to make sure the next generation understands who God is? Every action, every thought, everything we do sets the example and standard for those behind us of what they should expect. Let’s aim to keep the younger ones in mind and take the high road in our actions so that kids live by that example. Make sure they see you reading the Bible and take time to read it to them. Act with integrity in all cases so that they see that and understand it's importance. Pray with them, remind them of God's faithfulness, spend time with them doing fun things! Work hard to set up the world changers of tomorrow with the best understanding and role models they can have so that they can truly make a difference for God’s kingdom.
