Science And Faith // Sunday, October 5

Posted: Sunday, October 5

One Year Bible Reading:

Jeremiah 4:19-6:15
Colossians 1:18-2:7
Psalm 77:1-20
Proverbs 24:23-25

Verse of the day:

In Him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Colossians 2:3)

Nowadays, many people consider that the disciplines of science and faith stand in opposition to one another. They mistakenly believe that you can only trust in one or the other and that they are polar opposites, like the colors black and white. Satan loves to twist small lies into broad deceptions, and this is one of his best works in the postmodern world.

The reality is that nothing could be further from the truth. Coming from a family that embraces the sciences professionally, I have learned to appreciate and even enjoy (yes, I am a bit of a nerd) many of the various disciplines within the realm of science. Rather than eroding, sound science and reliable research actually supports confidence in the Bible and faith in the One True God revealed therein.

One of the three titles Jesus reveals to us in John 14:6 is “the Truth.”  Bottom line, Jesus is “True North” spiritually, morally, ethically, and scientifically. So, faith in Jesus Christ, actually becomes a foundation that ought to propel believers to deeper investigation, thoughtful conversation, and lastly, confident declaration… “In Him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge!”

If you have questions, start by looking to Jesus today. Pray, seek truth, and discover a new confidence in the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
