Verse of the day:

Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act…” (Psalm 37:7)

Do you ever struggle to be still and wait for God to act?  It can be tempting to take matters into our own hands when we feel like God is being slow to act or when we don’t feel like we are seeing the result that we want.   It’s in those times that we want to act that we first need to take time to be still and rest in the presence of the Lord.  It is in those times of being still that He will speak to us and give us direction if we are to act, or He will give us the strength to be patient to wait on Him to act for us.

We get ourselves into the most trouble when we step out and take action without first being still and seeking His direction.  Proverbs 14:12 warns us about this when it says, “There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. “ However, if we will be still and seek after God’s direction Jesus promises in Matthew 6:33, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”

Rest and be still in Him! Trust Him and wait patiently for Him to act! He will always come through!
