Numbers 24:1-25:18 Luke 2:1-35 Psalm 59:1-17 Proverbs 11:14
Verse of the day:
In his unfailing love, my God will stand with me. He will let me look down in triumph on all my enemies. (Psalms 59:10)
David had a rough few years. His king and father-in-law was bent upon his death. He has made himself David’s enemy. There were times that David found himself on the run, hiding in caves, and even living in a foreign land.
It was out of this season that this song was written. David knew how to keep things in perspective. He felt alone. He felt as if he was trapped and would surely be captured. Yet, he knew that he did not stand alone. God stood with him.
There may be days that you feel the weight of the world pressing against your back and shoulders as if it would crush you. Maybe you should change your perspective, because it just might be that weigh you feel is you leaning hard on the supporting hand of God. His hand upholds your. His arm is bracing you. He is standing with you.
So today, lean into that weight and know that God’s comforting yet firm hand is holding you up. He stands with you and one day will lead you to victory over all your enemies.
