Leviticus 14:1-57
Mark 6:30-56
Psalm 40:1-10
Proverbs 10:11-12

Verse of the day:

He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. (Psalm 40: 2)

God has taken us from the life we once knew, a life of despair and destruction. He pulled us out of the quagmire that was pulling us downward to destruction. And in that crucial moment, He set our feet on solid ground—upon a rock—the rock of His salvation. But He didn’t stop there, He put a new song in our mouths and in our hearts. Not only was it a song of praise, but it was a song of hope—a song that testifies to the goodness and faithfulness of God.

We are witnesses of His goodness in a way that others see the transformation from what we once were, to what we have become through His Grace. And it’s not just what happened on the outside, but more importantly what has transpired on the inside. So much, so obvious was the transformation, that the reality of our Lord’s loving-kindness could not be denied.

When we think of the life we were trapped in before, a life where we didn't know God, then how grateful we should be that He saved us and delivered us from the hopelessness we once knew. We have so much to praise Him for. This is the new song we have on our lips—one that speaks of hope, deliverance, life, adoration and God's grace—not to mention His mercy and goodness.

Let’s carry these thoughts in our hearts and minds as we go about our day—and sing the new song.
