2 Peter 2:1-22
Verse of the day:
The trustworthy person will get a rich reward, but a person who wants quick riches will get into trouble. (Proverbs 28:20)
Have you ever felt that only those who are willing to do whatever it takes to get what they want get ahead in life? What if I told you that it is the other way around? What if I told you that for God a successful person is a trustworthy person?
Proverbs 28:20 contrasts the approach to success of two types of people – the trustworthy person and the one who wants quick riches. It concludes that God blesses the trustworthy. Thus, encouraging you to be trustworthy.
You see, trustworthy people are honest and loyal. They keep promises. If they say they’ll do something, they do it. They do the right thing, even if it gets them in trouble or causes them to lose friends, opportunities, or money. They honor their commitments, pay their debts, and keep their word. In God’s eyes, a trustworthy person is a successful person.
Even if it doesn’t seem like it in the beginning, it always pays off in the end to be trustworthy. If you are trustworthy, God will abundantly pour out His blessings on everything you do.
