One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Genesis 30:1-31:16
Matthew 10:1-23
Psalm 12:1-8
Proverbs 3:13-15

Verse of the day:

Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received! (Matthew 10:7-8)

You read this portion of Matthew and, at least for me, it’s one of those ‘hoorah’ kind of verses! Go get em boys! The Kingdom of Heaven is near so show em what you got! These instructions from Jesus to His disciples are the perfect battle cry before the siege. But it’s only a battle cry… right?

Heal people - including those with leprosy - hey, even raise them from the dead! Make sure to cast out demons that are tormenting people too! A nice instruction for those who lived, ate, and learned directly under Jesus. But this is a battlecry for more than Jesus’ twelve closest allies, it’s for us too!

You probably know someone who is currently sick, possibly even someone who has recently died. You more than likely know someone who is making terrible decisions for their life and is under control of our enemy. Jesus is calling you to announce that the Kingdom of Heaven is near! Is God dead? Is Jesus not as powerful and honest as the Bible claims He is? Then what’s holding you back from incredible miracles of faith? If God is for us, who can be against us! Jesus himself said, “Anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works.” Take a step of faith and change someone’s life today in Jesus name!
