Verse of the day:

I lift my hands to you in prayer (Psalm 143:6)

The location of your hands makes all the difference in life. The location of your hands makes the difference between victory and defeat in the battles you face. Let me explain…

Exodus 17 tells the story of a battle between Israel and the Amalekites. The Israelites’ leader, Moses, stood on top of a hill and we’re told that whenever he raised his hands Israel was winning the battle. But whenever Moses lowered his hands, whether because he was tired or needed a coffee break, we’re told that the Amalekites started to prevail. The location of your hands makes all the difference.

My girls are 1 and 3 years old and they are in the stage of life where there are multiple ‘boo boos’ each day. When they get hurt or when they need help they simply raise their hands towards me and I’m more than eager to pick them up and help them. Our perfect, heavenly father longs for us to reach out our hands to him so he can bring help and victory to our lives.

Jesus says you should ask and you should seek and you should knock! There’s no good reason why you should fend off all the help that heaven is willing to send your way. There is no good reason why you should be trying to win your battles on human strength alone. You weren’t designed to be able to do that. So why not ask for heaven’s help today? The location of your hands makes all the difference!
