One Year Bible Reading Guide:

2 Chronicles 6:12-8:10
Romans 7:14-8:8
Psalm 18:1-15
Proverbs 19:24-25

Verse of the day:

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

God says He will.  God says in our verse above that He will hear our prayers, forgive our sin and heal our land.  The question is not “Will God?”, the question is  “Will we?” God says “If my people, who are called by my name will….”  The big word here is “if”, even though its only two letters long.  If we humble ourselves, pray and turn to God and away from sin, God will bless. Will we humble, will we pray, will we seek, will we turn?  The variable here is not God.  The variable is His people.

I don’t know how many people are included in “my people”.  Only God knows, but I’m thinking it’s a lot.  I can’t speak for all those, but I can speak for me and say I will.  And you can too.  I will be humble, I will pray, I will seek, I will turn.  I encourage you to do the same.  Put your name in the verse above. “If my people (including ____________), who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14   Turn your “if” to an “I will”.  Tell God you’re in.

Let the turning to God start with you and me like Joshua of old when he said “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15)  Let’s humble ourselves, pray, seek God with all our heart and repent and experience God’s blessing, forgiveness and healing in our lives and in our nation.
