One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Deuteronomy 2:1-3:29
Luke 6:12-38
Psalm 67:1-7
Proverbs 11:27

Verse of the day:

At daybreak he called together all of his disciples and chose twelve of them to be apostles. (Luke 6:13a)

Jesus is all about intentionality. He doesn’t do anything on a whim. He’s a planner, a strategist, a tactician.

We see this in today’s verse of the day. Jesus was intentional about who He chose to be in His inner circle. He hand selected specific people to pour His precious moments on Earth into. Jesus very clearly chose the man who would betray Him, knowing this well in advance, to be one of His closest allies. Jesus chose these twelve men to be His apostles because He knew they were the right fit.

When Jesus calls you to do something, He’s calling you because He knows you’re the right fit. He makes decisions because He is all knowing. When we ask for His wisdom, we’re asking for insight from the ultimate planner. In all decisions, don’t lean on what you think is the best solution. Lean on the master strategist. What He tells you to do will always lead you in the most beneficial and life giving direction.
