One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Jeremiah 51:54-52:34
Titus 3:1-15
Psalm 100:1-5
Proverbs 26:18-19

Verse of the day:

Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other (Titus 3:3)

I’m so thankful that I’ve been saved by grace. To me, I view grace as this overwhelming gift that I can never repay. Have you ever had someone do something so nice or so thoughtful that you just feel guilty about it? What they did was SO nice, too nice, how could you ever fully express your gratitude? Since Chloe’s been born, so many of you from the church have been overboard kind to our family. That’s how we feel about our church congregation, you are all TO nice!

Whatever your backstory is, rough or pleasant, if you’re a Christ follower you’ve been saved by grace. Saved from the responsibility of sin, saved from the consequence of sin, and saved from a life of slavery. On our own, there’s nothing we could do to free ourselves from it’s bondage. We’re weak, we to easily give in, we could never fulfill the requirements. Thank God for grace.

Grace has set us free. It’s the gift of pardon from God that none of us deserve. It’s the overly thoughtful, considerate, and timely need fulfilled. It’s freedom from the slave contract we’ve openly engaged in with sin. And the most stunning part of the whole deal is that it’s sitting there, waiting for us to accept. Sure, conditions come with grace, but it’s the conditions of freedom. I’m thankful for grace and the fact the Jesus has set me free from a life of foolishness, misled, evil slavery to lust and pleasures.
