Proverbs 20:24-25

Verse of the Day:

Yet when I am among mature believers, I do speak with words of wisdom, but not the kind of
wisdom that belongs to this world or to the rulers of this world, who are soon forgotten. (1 Corinthians 2:6 NLT)

As we gather together as the Body of Christ, there is a wisdom that is shared through a common understanding of God’s Word. A wisdom that transcends the knowledge of this world. It is the Holy Spirit who imparts this eternal wisdom to the hearts and minds of people.

We live in an atmosphere in our country where different political parties claim to have the answers to just about everything we could possibly face. But theirs is a flawed wisdom—based on man’s wisdom—a wisdom coming from those that would be our “rulers”. But like so many leaders before them, when they do not place their trust and hope in God and His principles, they are destined to fail time and again—and are soon forgotten.

We must plant God’s word so deeply in our hearts that whenever we need to draw on a strength that is not our own, we do so as though it were a reflex action. When we are hurting physically, emotionally, we immediately go to our “Healer”, when we are in need of resource, immediately we turn to our “Provider”, when we are lonely and frightened we run to our comforter and shelter. And the list can go on.

Just knowing that God is not only able, but accessible at any time, brings a peace that transcends any peace this world can ever offer. And though God puts people with wisdom into our lives to
help us mature us, their wisdom must always align with His word.
