What God Has Prepared

Song of Solomon 1:1-4:16
2 Corinthians 8:16-24
Verse of the day:
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." (1 Corinthians 2:9)
As kids, there were always those things we looked forward to. For us, growing up in south Florida, going to the beach was one of them. Christmas was always at the top of the list—even if a white Christmas was completely out of the question. There were the family vacations, Easter egg hunts, and even those first few days of school. And while there was a certain amount of “the unknown” to each of these events, there was still enough of a past reference point to be able to visualize what they held in store for us. Imagination can be a powerful thing—generating an enormous amount of excitement.
In a similar way, Christians look forward to heaven and dream of seeing the Lord face to face, of being reunited with those we love that have gone home to the Lord before us, and of sharing in the glory of Jesus and his angels. But we can't even begin to imagine the great things that God has prepared for us. Because no human reference point exists to describe what that moment in time holds for the believer, you can rest assured that they are far more glorious than anything we can dream or imagine.
