Verse of the day:

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. (John 4:23)

No not the “World Wide Web”.  The first W is water.  How refreshing is a cold glass of water after working hard or on a hot day or after working hard on a hot day.  That much needed water refreshes your body and quenches your physical thirst.  Jesus talks to the Samaritan woman and offers her the living water that comes from Him and quenches spiritual thirst and brings eternal life.  John 4:13-14 says this.  Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”  Are you drinking from the living water that Jesus offers? Have you offered someone a drink of living water by introducing them to Jesus?  But I’m getting ahead of myself, that’s actually the third “W”.

The second “W” is worship. In their conversation, the woman at the well and Jesus talk about worship.  Jesus tells her it’s not so important where you worship as how you worship.  He told her the Father is looking for those who will worship Him in spirit and in truth.  John 4:23-24 says this.  “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.  God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” We must worship God with sincerity and a spirit that is in tune with the spirit of God.  We must worship God according to the truth of God’s Word and through the truth of Jesus Christ.

The third “W” is witnessing which is what Jesus was doing.  Granted, He was telling the woman at the well about Himself but it was still witnessing.  Later when the disciples return to Him He tells them that He’s been doing the Father’s will and work.  John4:31-35 says this.  His disciples urged him, “Rabbi, eat something.  ”But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.” Then his disciples said to each other, “Could someone have brought him food?”  “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” He’d been working hard in the harvest field, the harvest field of souls of which the woman at the well is one of them.  His work in the harvest field that day resulted in many Samaritans becoming believers because he told the woman about Himself and the woman told others about Him.  What a great example to the disciples and to us to tell other about Jesus.

Drink from the well of Living Water that leads to eternal life every day.  Worship the Lord every day.  Don’t wait till you get to Church to worship Him.  Be working every day in the harvest field, sowing and reaping.  Witness, tell people about Jesus.   The woman at the well did and she just met Him.  So, drink from the Living Water, worship in spirit and in truth and witness and work in the harvest doing God’s will.
