One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Daniel 11:2-35
1 John 3:7-24
Psalm 122:1-9
Proverbs 29:1

Verse of the day:

Pray for peace in Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6)

The command to pray for the peace of Jerusalem is one with many benefits, including God’s blessing and peace in the lives of those who pray. But just how should we pray? Here are some simple ways:

1.      Pray for Jewish and Palestinian political leaders that work for peace.

2.      Pray for the Gospel to be heard and received in the hearts of everyone there.

3.      Pray for the reconciliation efforts between Israeli and Palestinian believers in Israel.

Praying for the peace of Jerusalem reminds us of our blessed hope; that Jesus, the Prince of Peace, is coming again. And when he arrives, the scriptures tell us that He will set up His kingdom on earth in Jerusalem where true peace will be established and radiate throughout the world.

Maybe you are living in turmoil today. A world-wide peace is promised in the future, but true peace can be had through Jesus Christ today. Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 11:27, NIV). Making Him the Lord of your life, your heart, and your circumstances is where the impact of real peace begins. Trust him and pray for peace!
