Guys love to be wild and adventurous. But before they are fully equipped to tackle the winter elements they first have to be trained to survive in extreme conditions. With the warm comforts of the Training Center close by, attendees of Winter Survival Camp can gauge how much (or how little) they want to experience.
Backpacking is a challenging yet highly rewarding experience. Essentials of hiking – including equipment, first aid, cooking, navigation and how to pack a backpack are covered before you hit the nine-mile trail for a two-day backpacking adventure. You will carry all your gear in backpacks, filter all your drinking water and cook freeze-dried food over backpacking stoves.
There's nothing like the freedom of gliding across the open waters in your canoe packed with food and supplies to last you for the two days it will take to complete this adventure.
This adventure is not for the feint-hearted. In fact, most guys complete this camp last to be sure they are fully prepared for the challenge of living off the land for three days. we will teach you to build your own shelter, trap your own food and filter your water as you experience survival in the wilderness.
Frontiersman Camping Fellowship
The American frontiersman is an excellent example of man’s ability to adapt to the outdoors and the wilderness. At eleven, a boy was considered a man and his achievements were an example of courage and sheer determination.
Young men who have completed Jr Training Camp (JTC) and have either the Gold Eagle, Adventure Bronze or E1 award are eligible to attend this camp in order to join FCF. Adult Ranger Leaders can join too, provided they have an approved background check and have completed “Safety” as well as “Ready Leader” of the Outpost Leaders Advancement Levels (OLAL).

Build lifelong friendships as you spend Memorial Day weekend living like a frontiersman in the late 1700's! Allow us to host you and your family as we provide you with a fully-immersive old-world experience packed with games, competitions and unforgettable fellowship. Ask the FCF member that invited you to help you put together an outfit before you arrive, or see one of the Clothiers at camp. We usually have enough primitive camping gear to go around, but bring your modern camping equipment in case.
FCF members enjoy fellowship and the mighty presence of God around campfire services after a long day of competitions and training. Turn in your advancement packets and complete you last minute testing before advancement at the Saturday night Council Fire.
