One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Ezekiel 42:1-43:27
James 5:1-20
Psalm 119:1-16
Proverbs 28:6-7

Verse of the day:

Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. (Psalm 119:1)

Those who walk in obedience to the Word of God are and will be blessed.  Proverbs 28:6 says you are better off being “the poor whose walk is blameless than the rich whose ways are perverse”.   James talks about “the rich whose ways are perverse”,  in James 5:1-6.  Their perverse ways include dishonesty, stealing, greed, and murder.  Indeed,” the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.” (1 Timothy 6:10).

James also says at the end of 5:16 that “the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”.  This is just one of the blessings of living a blameless life. True riches are not found in what this world has to offer but in a right relationship with Jesus Christ and living for God.  Choose living for God and the blessings it brings (Psalm 119:1) over the riches of this world that rot, corrode and wear out (James 5:2-3).  Choose God, not money, and be blessed.  Be rich, spiritually speaking.
