Trust Me, Trust God

1 Peter 1:13-2:10
Verse of the day:
Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory. (1 Peter 1:21)
A lot of people died the same year that Jesus was arrested and crucified. Death by crucifixion was a cruel but common way for Romans to kill enemies of the state. Thus when Jesus died, everybody thought “the romans killed another good man.” However, Jesus was and is more than just a “good man.” His death on the cross conquered sin and death. He saved us, forgave us and gave us new life. It is through Him that we can know and trust God.
His disciples didn’t understand he had to die. They were hopeless. They thought everything was lost. They were all mistaken! Three days later, Jesus came back to life, just like he promised. Jesus is alive and there is nothing too difficult for the God who raised him from the dead.
If all you see around you is suffering and death, broken dreams and unfulfilled expectations, hopelessness and despair. I have good news for you! You can trust in God. When you trust in God with all your heart, he who raised Jesus from the dead is on your side. Would you trust in him today?
