Verse of the day:
But Noah found favor with the Lord. (Genesis 6:8)
When you read the story of Genesis, it does not take long for the newness of our world to wear off. Sin works quickly to turn the paradise God created into a place of wickedness, full of evil men. The evil of early civilization reaches its peak during the life of Noah. God is said to have regretted his creation and sought to destroy mankind.
In the midst of all the evil in the world, one man’s life stands out. The Bible records that Noah found favor with God. God saw his life, his choices and his family and saw hope for what mankind was supposed to be. In Noah was the hope that man could reach the potential that they were created for. So he found favor with God.
Being in God’s favor is a great place to be. When he shines on your life, no matter how strong the storm outside is, you will be able to walk in his blessings. I am sure that there were moments that Noah struggled in the building and sailing of the ark. However, he lived. When the storm that would destroy all of mankind came, it did not overwhelm him. It was not because he was smarter than everyone else. It was not because he worked harder. It was simply because he lived a life that caused God to notice and when God noticed, he liked what he saw.
Today, make sure you choose the things that will make God smile upon your life. God’s favor is enough to carry us through all the challenges that we will face in this New Year.
