One Year Bible Reading Guide

Deuteronomy 21:1-22:30
Luke 9:51-10:12
Psalm 74:1-23
Proverbs 12:11

Verse of the day:

These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. (Luke 10:2)

Jesus was a missionary. He was sent by God the Father, and He is God the Son. He was sent into human history to bring the love and life of God to all. And in the same way that Jesus was sent, Jesus sends the 72 and he sends us today into cities, into neighborhoods, into schools, into businesses, into homes to love, to serve, and to see the salvation of as many people as possible.

The challenge Jesus saw was not with the harvest, but with the number of willing workers. Jesus called the harvest ‘great’. Do you believe this? Do you believe that you are surrounded by people who are just an introduction away from coming to know Jesus personally and experiencing life transformation? May God open our hearts and eyes to the great harvest that surrounds us, and may we work for him willingly and joyfully.
