2 Samuel 7:1-8:18
Verse of the day:
Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them. (John 14:23)
If you asked 5 people what their definition of love is, chances are you would get 5 different answers. Scripture teaches us that God is love; therefore only God can legitimately define what love is. In John 14:23 Jesus tells us that an authentic love for God will result in our obedience to Him. And when we obey God, Jesus says He will come and make His home with us! That’s incredible! Picture what life would be like if Jesus were your roommate, and then understand that this level of fellowship is possible when we obey His voice.
I believe it’s possible to be a follower of Christ yet not have intimacy with Him. It’s possible to be a Christian and feel like God is distant. Why? Because disobedience strains our relationship with God. Partial obedience separates us from God. And delayed obedience separates us from God. Simply put, partial obedience or delayed obedience isdisobedience, which causes us to lose out on fellowship with Him.
Want God to make His home with you today? Want to experience His presence in a tangible way? Then make the choice to always say ‘yes’ to God.
