2 Samuel 23:24-24:25
Verse of the day:
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” (Acts 3:6)
We all encounter people on a regular basis who have huge needs. Peter and John encountered such a person while they were on their way to the temple for prayer. The man was born with a condition making him unable to walk, which made him not able to work and dependent on the charity and generosity of others. Seeing Peter and John the man calls out to them to see if they would be able to help him out. Not having any money to give him Peter tells him,” Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” We are told that they immediately pulled the man to his feet and for the first time in his life he was able to walk.
They may not have had money to give but the man received something so much better! Often we may not have the means or the wisdom to be able to take care of the needs of others. The good news is that we serve a God who is bigger and wiser than any need we will encounter. The man they encountered was focused on having an immediate need met but God met a much bigger need.
So what do we have that we can give someone who is in great need? Give them Jesus. He is the ultimate solution to any need we will encounter. He is able to do far more than what we ever could & more than we could ever imagine!
