2 Kings 23:31-25:30
Acts 22:17-23:10
Psalm 2:1-12
Proverbs 18:13

Verse of the day:

Spouting off before listening to the facts is both shameful and foolish. (Proverbs 18:13)

You’ve probably heard about the hoax that was played against KFC recently. A family alleged that a restaurant employee told a little girl that she needed to leave because of the scars on her face. People from across the country started boycotts of KFC and began to trash the company’s reputation on social media. The family’s claim against KFC has now been shown to be a lie and it’s been interesting to watch people apologize for lashing out against the restaurant on their Facebook page.

It’s never been easier to quickly air our opinions to the world thanks to the internet and this often leads people to make accusations that haven’t been properly vetted. There have been times that I’ve been bothered by some news story and I’d love to make a rant online, but then I hear the still small voice of God tell me to be silent. That still, small voice has saved me much embarrassment and grief over the years. Let us be quick to listen and slow to speak.
