One Year Bible Reading Guide:

1 Chronicles 28:1-29:30
Romans 5:6-21
Psalm 15:1-5
Proverbs 19:18-19

Verse of the day:

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans 5:6)

God created time when He created this world and time allows us to record history. This kind of time comes and goes without intent. But here, Paul speaks of an appointed time. It was at this moment in time that Jesus did the unimaginable; He died in our place, for us, “at just the right time.”  This history shaping appointment was determined by God the Father from the very beginning, when He peered into the future and decided that this was the perfect moment when mankind’s redemption would be provided. God doesn’t just sit outside of time. No, He is purposefully, sovereignly, and lovingly at work in time; in our lives, community, and world in every moment of every day.

Sometimes, life feels so random. I wonder, what kind of appointments has He planned for you today? They may or may not be on your calendar but rest assured, they are written into His. And because He loves you and because He has great plans for you, you can trust that no matter what the day may bring, His perfect plan is ultimately for your good and His glory.

Take a moment to commit your day to God and mindfully choose to embrace His appointments for your life today.
