2 Corinthians 5:11-21
Verse of the day:
Plans succeed through good counsel; don’t go to war without wise advice. (Proverbs 20:18)
This verse tells us that we should engage counsel in order to establish our plans and purposes. Not just any counsel—but Godly counsel. When called to face any kind of battle/struggle it is especially important to have the counsel of fellow Christians—people who understand the nature of the struggle.
Proverbs 15:22 continues this thought by saying, without consultation plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed, (once again, Godly counselors). Team work is vital for any large vision to be accomplished. A good counselor is one who weighs out the pros and cons of a situation and suggests the best way to accomplish or correct something. With a multitude of counselors, the goals and purposes will stand a better chance of not being frustrated—but will be completed in a way that honors God and benefits us in the process.
Let’s challenge each other to both give and seek Godly counsel—then we can live with the results.
