But For Their Sake // Monday, September 29

Verse of the day:
I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live. (Phillipians 1:23-24)
Once we made the decision and booked our trip, I could not wait to get to Disney World with Steph to celebrate our one year anniversary ! Once that passed, I was so excited to be part of the Chick-Fil-A first 100 where I won free meals for a year. Since that passed, I’m now anticipating the Teen Challenge Banquet where I’ll get to hear Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty speak. Point being, there is always something exciting to look forward to, especially for Christians.
As a Christian, we live with the hope of knowing that when our lives finally come to an end, a new life is awaiting us in paradise with Christ. For me, that’s really exhilarating and worth getting jazzed for! There’s great things happening in life now, but the most compelling event I foresee is finally seeing Christ face to face and being made complete through His grace. The Bible says that the ultimate reward and goal of a Christian is to meet God in Heaven. And while Heaven is the most anticipated aspect of our lives, for their sake, there’s more to get done still.
In Pastor Brooks’ message yesterday, (which if you weren’t at church with us, you can catch the message online tomorrow afternoon) he dared us to take a stand for Christ in order to make a difference in this world. Paul (who wrote the book of Phillipians) believed it was vital to finish his work here on Earth before getting to Heaven. Reason being, the more people in Heaven with us the better! I want to go to Heaven and be with Christ now so bad, and there are millions of Christians around the world that feel the same way! But there’s others who need to know that the prescription to death is Christ!
No day can be wasted! We have a bright breathtaking future ahead of us. For their sake, let’s live our lives everyday taking the stand to make God look awesome!
