One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Genesis 28:1-29:35
Matthew 9:18-38
Psalm 11:1-7
Proverbs 3:11-12

Verse of the day:

He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.  So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” (Matthew 9:37-38)

When you look around it doesn’t always seem like the “harvest is great.” Sometimes it seems more like the harvest isn’t interested or that the harvest is content living in sin. But Jesus after ministering looked around at the people and had compassion on them seeing that they were confused and helpless and told the disciples that the problem isn’t that there aren’t people who are interested the problem is there aren’t enough workers to go out do the work of spreading the good news!

Jesus tells us that we should pray for more workers to be sent out into the field! We have a responsibility to pray not only for our own needs but for the needs of the community around us and even the world! We need to pray that there will be people who feel the tug to witness in their workplace and to their neighbors, and that people would feel the call to leave and go to faraway lands to spread the good news of Jesus!

Pray that even today God would use you and others to bring in the harvest!
