One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Genesis 50:1 - Exodus 2:10
Matthew 16:13-17:9
Psalm 21:1-13
Proverbs 5:1-6

Verse of the day:

How the king rejoices in your strength, O Lord! He shouts with joy because you give him victory. For you have given him his heart’s desire; you have withheld nothing he requested. (Psalm 21:1-2)

Israel was truly blessed with a Godly king who knew where his salvation, long life, and strength came from. David's response to this knowledge in Psalm 21 is displayed with a spirit of great joy in the presence of God.

What about us? Do we understand that God grants salvation, life, strength, and any other needs we have in our own lives? Does this mean that the true Christian never doubts his salvation, never becomes discouraged by his circumstances, or is never afflicted with disease and pain? You already know the answer to those questions, don't you? The true Christian may experience any or all of these and much more. However, we do so with the knowledge that God controls the circumstances surrounding us, and He will make a way through those circumstances for us, withholding nothing we need from us.

So today, we too can rejoice in the victory we experience through the love of God as He watches over us.
