One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Exodus 4:1-5:21
Matthew 18:1-20
Psalm 22:19-31
Proverbs 5:15-21

Verse of the day:

For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them. (Matthew 18:20)

Jesus commands us multiple times in Scripture to come together or assemble. Why? Because He wants to meet with us in a special way. Oh yes, God is omnipresent – that’s a  big word that means He is everywhere at once. But when we join together and honor Jesus, He joins with us not as a spectator, but as an active participant in our lives. Corporate worship services, small group Bible studies, family devotions, and praying with your spouse are all environments where we welcome Jesus Christ into our lives and lean on Him to work supernaturally; to do what we could never do.

Satan hates it when we come together in Christ’s name. His goal for Christ-centered relationships is division. He hates seeing Christ dwelling with people. Satan’s plan is to peel people away from the blessing of God’s active presence and the safety of Christian relationships. Why? Because alone, we are easy prey for the “roaring lion.”

I challenge you to take some time to get together with other believers today. Pray with your spouse and children. Attend a church service or get into a Bible study. Grab some coffee or a meal with a Christian friend and pray for one another. If your location won’t allow for face to face, then place a call, enjoy a great conversation, and pray for your friend before you hang up. Refuse to do life solo and enjoy the blessing of “Together.”
