One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Deuteronomy 11:1-12:32
Luke 8:22-39
Psalm 70:1-5
Proverbs 12:4

Verse of the day:

Therefore, be careful to obey every command I am giving you today, so you may have strength to go in and take over the land you are about to enter. If you obey, you will enjoy a long life in the land the Lord swore to give to your ancestors and to you, their descendants—a land flowing with milk and honey! (Deuteronomy 11: 8-9)

God has charged us to keep the every commandment He has given us. In doing so, today we will have the strength to “possess” the land that He has prepared for us. For you and me, this means the promises He has given us in scripture for a prosperous life. This doesn’t always mean money. What about prosperity in our marriages, our homes, children that have learned the value of serving God? What about, not just a job, but a job we love going to everyday—a job we can invest ourselves completely in? These are all points of prosperity that God has promised to those who follow His commandments—who follow Him.

Our obedience will give us a long life filled with these promises of God. Promises that can be passed on to our children—a life flowing with milk and honey.

After all, Isn’t learning how to access the blessings of God through His word the best gift we have to pass on to our children?
