Proverbs 13:1

Verse of the day:

If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? (Luke 15:4)

Every one of us has been lost. Whether in a store separated from our parents, on a hike in the woods where we got turned around, or just losing our way, all of us have felt the terror that comes with the realization that you are lost.

Every one of us has been lost. We have allowed the act of sin to separate us from the plan that God has for our lives. Can you remember the terrifying moment that you realized that you were away from God’s heart?

Every one of us have someone who is looking for us. The terror that grips us when we realize that we have lost our way does not measure up to the joy that we feel when we are found. Even before we realized that we had lost our way, God was pursuing us. God chases people. He is standing right behind us waiting for us to realize that our way is not his way and that we only need to turn around. When we turn, he finds us.

Are you lost? Do you know someone that is lost? Most of us only realize we are lost when we find ourselves trapped in the grip of the consequences of our sin. Our sin and shame hold us tight. However, the Good Shepherd is looking for you today. Call out to him, turn to him, and you can be found.
