1 Kings 3:3-4:34
Acts 6:1-15
Psalm 126:1-6
Proverbs 16:26-27

Verse of the day:

“Turn again our captivity, O LORD, like the streams in the Negev. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goes forth and weeps, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing the harvest with him.” (Psalm 126: 4-6)

In the western parts of the United States, where the climate is very arid and desert like, we have what are called “arroyos” or “dry gullies”. These arroyos are formed from the sudden down bursts of rain and the subsequent runoff that occasionally rage over the desert.  On a clear day an arroyo may fill quickly with water from a cloud burst miles away, and if you are unaware or uninformed about the danger they could cause, you may find yourself in the path of harmful/deadly flash flood. As water rushes down these arroyos, all the debris, trash, mud and junk are carried with them making them even more dangerous—not to mention the occasional rattlesnake looking for something to cling to!

These arroyos are similar to the dry desert gullies of Israel’s Negev.  The cry of the Psalmist is the same as our cry today, “Lord send your deliverance – and Lord, please send it immediately!”   Don’t stop there—ask Him to release you from your captivity as quickly and as powerfully as the waters that race through the arroyos!  Ask God to remove the debris and junk, the obstacles and troubles. Ask Him to break any demonic strongholds that have gripped your life—attempting to block or hinder your success, and God’s blessing!

With God, your every tear has been seen and noted. There is a “suddenly” waiting for all those who have sown in tears. Remain faithful to the Lord and to His Word. Continue to sow in faith and don’t doubt—you too will experience this sudden, and cleansing flashflood of God’s blessing!

Is that a cloud forming on the horizon?  It looks like rain!
