One Year Bible Reading Guide:

1 Kings 7:1-51
Acts 7:30-50
Psalm 128:1-6
Proverbs 16:31-33

Verse of the day:

Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table. That is the Lord’s blessing for those who fear him. (Psalm 128:3-4)

The olive tree count at our home is currently three with a new sprout expected in August. We have a lot of trees. I’m pretty sure that four is now classified as an ‘orchard’ . . . or maybe it’s a ‘grove’ of children. (Yep, that definitely sounds creepy.) Today, I have a few olive tree prayers that I’d like for you to pray with me.

For those who are praying for new olive trees:

Heavenly Father, we pray for the blessings of Your hand. You are the God of divine healing, and You are the God of divine adoption. I pray that you would heal bodies to bear miracles, and I pray that you would open doors for heaven-ordained adoptions. In the valleys of the unknown, I pray for patience, wisdom, and endurance for those who wait upon the Lord.

For those who are currently caring for an olive grove:

Heavenly Father, renew and refine the calling you’ve given to each parent. Guide earthly struggles with the wisdom of heavenly perspective. Teach parents to dance freely between the weight of responsibility and the joy of reward. May our tables be filled with laughter, honesty, and forgiveness.

For those who are secondary caregivers:

For every teacher, uncle, abuela, neighbor, babysitter, role model, and friend, we pray for your guidance. Let us come alongside the olive trees within our influence. May we breathe life and grace to both parent and child. Even in our later years, may we experience the love of adoption as we are grafted into new families as caregivers and friends.
