One Year Bible Reading Guide:

Isaiah 48:12-50:11
Ephesians 4:17-32
Psalm 69:1-18
Proverbs 24:5-6

Verse of the day:

Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. (Ephesians 4:21-22)

Can you remember the moment you realized in full comprehension that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life? I want you to pause from reading this for just a sec and think back to that time. I honestly can’t remember that moment. I’m thankful that as long as I can consciously remember, Jesus has always been part of my identity. Even though I have this history with Him, His truth is constantly impacting and warping the way I process and behave. I’m in no shape or form perfect or at the place I know Jesus wants me to be at, not even close! But His truth is still life changing!

Paul writes that since we have heard of Jesus, followed by learning His teachings and instructions, the old way of doing things is no good no mo. When Jesus enters the scene, He turns everything we know and how we understand upside down and transforms it into a more difficult, but better and more fulfilling way of living. I’ve adapted this saying as my life’s motto that doing things God’s way always turns out better and then the best is yet to come!

To learn Jesus’ teachings is to know and understand Him better. He is truth, and his teachings are a reflection of truth. His word is precious and our solid rock and foundation for life. Love the Word, soak in Jesus’ teachings and let it transform the way you think and do.
