2 Chronicles 21:1-23:21
Romans 11:13-36
Psalm 22:1-18
Proverbs 20:7

Verse of the Day:

Yet you brought me out of the womb;
    you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast.
 From birth I was cast on you;
    from my mother’s womb you have been my God. (Psalm 22:9-10 NIV)

My wife is 39 weeks pregnant.  As I type this message, I could get the call that it’s time for our son to be born.

Jennifer is a champion.  She is keeping up with our two-year-old and four-year-old daughters, sending work emails, doing household chores and spending time with friends; all this as a person constantly elbows, kicks, twists and pushes inside of her.

We are thankful for all in our church family who have been praying for us during this time.

While we are excited to meet this baby, God already knows him.  The newborn is already wired to trust in his Heavenly Father.

David describes this relationship in Psalm 22:9-10 (NIV):
Yet you brought me out of the womb;
    you made me trust in you, even at my mother’s breast.
From birth I was cast on you;
    from my mother’s womb you have been my God.

David writes this in a Psalm where he asks God to be close to him as trouble approaches (v. 11).

I do not know what troubles and challenges our child will face.  Even as adults, trials arise with little or no warning.

How thankful I am that God is with each of us from the beginning.  He knows our lives intimately.  God has protected us at times when we were unaware that we needed protection.

Every precious life is a gift from God.
