Zechariah 10:1-11:17
Revelation 18:1-24
Psalm 146:1-10
Proverbs 30:33

 Verse of the day:

“As the beating of cream yields butter and striking the nose causes bleeding, so stirring up anger causes quarrels.” Proverbs 30:33

There are certain actions that if you do them will always produce an expected result. If you beat cream long enough you will produce butter. If you hit someone in the nose you will produce blood.  And if you knowingly push someone’s buttons you will produce a fight. The production of butter is the only good result of the three!

No one likes to have their buttons pushed, especially by people who should know better. The people closest to us are the ones who know what our buttons are and so it is even more annoying when they push them. They should know better! Sometimes it’s fun to push buttons though. Sometimes there is a grand explosion that results from the button being pushed.  But it’s not a good way to live our lives going around pushing people’s buttons.

Ephesians 4:3 says, “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” If you know something you are going to say or do is going to push someone’s buttons and produce a fight…think twice.  Is there a different way to approach the situation that will produce a productive conversation? If you choose the high road and avoid unnecessarily pushing someone’s buttons you will never regret it!
