Numbers 26:1-51
Luke 2:36-52
Psalm 60:1-12
Proverbs 11:15

Verse of the day:

Three days later they finally discovered him in the Temple, sitting among the religious teachers, listening to them and asking questions. All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers. (Luke 2:46-47)

The most complex aspect of Jesus to understand is how He could be fully God and fully man. If he’s God, did he have to go to school to learn math? Because if He’s God, God created math, and Jesus should know it, right?

I would love to have been a fly on the wall during Jesus’ time at the Temple. Here’s a kid, listening and asking questions to the religious teachers that amazed everyone in attendance. Imagine a 6th grader coming in to our Pastoral staff meetings and asking questions that baffled us all, including Pastor Brooks! That's exactly what Jesus was doing.

Here’s the takeaway from today’s story - Jesus can give you the wisdom you need. Even as a kid, he was blowing the minds of the smartest religious people of the time. When you need to know what to do, turn to Jesus. Spend time seeking Him through prayer, take time to listen, and turn to His instructions found in the Bible. You’ll never go wrong with the direction from Jesus. It’s when we think we can do this on our own that we find ourselves in trouble. Turn to the wisest kid that was ever alive, Jesus can make your path straight.
