Hang Onto Your Faith

1 Corinthians 7:1-24
Verse of the day:
How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. (Psalm 31:19 )
Out of this psalm, which begins in desperation, we find a crescendo of faith. While things may seem bleak, God will not abandon his children. Those who reverence God will not be forgotten. Far from ignoring his children, God has stored up his goodness which he will generously pour out on us to show that we are his. When we take refuge in him, we will be protected and blessed. And for those on this side of Jesus' resurrection, because of His sacrifice, this promise of blessing and vindication takes on added depth and meaning, as well as a deeper assurance!
The God of Abraham, Moses, Ruth, David, and Esther, deserves our praise for His proven faithfulness through the centuries. Let’s thank Him for the great heritage of faith that shows us we can trust Him to remember us with His grace, and protect us by His power, and bless us with His goodness. And when the whole, watching world sees that goodness on display in our lives, He will be glorified and many will turn to Him.
So remember to ask Him today to give you the courage to hang on to your faith no matter what trials and temptations you face. In Jesus' name, let’s place our trust in Him—the author and finisher of our faith.
