Judges 9:22-10:18
Luke 24:13-53
Psalm 100:1-5
Proverbs 14:11-12

Verse of the day:

Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. (Psalm 100:3)

I don’t know about you, but sometimes in my busyness, I can neglect to give thanks. My prayer times can be heavy on requests and light on thanksgiving. Our passage today, (as well as throughout the chapter), is a great reminder and has some important instruction.

Heartfelt thanksgiving to acknowledge God and involves a gratitude that cannot be held back or held in. If we shout for joy when our favorite team scores the winning touchdown, how much more should we loudly express the emotion that comes with experiencing the living God and acknowledging that His plan is at work in our life?

Demonstrating that God is worthy of our adoration is something we must do every day. In addition, demonstrating our love for Him is not to be done with a down turned face, but with great gladness. After all, He not only made us, but He has claimed us as His own with the blood of Jesus—there is no higher price!

We belong to the One and Only Maker of heaven and earth who loves us so much that he sent his Son to die for our sins. Because of Jesus “we are His people”! And we feed in His safe pastures—pastures that will never run out of abundance.

That truth alone deserves a shout for joy—joyful worship, and the acknowledgment that indeed, He is our God!
