I Will Rescue Those Who Love Me

Verse of the day:
The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.” (Psalm 91:14-16)
My 7 month old daughter, Chloe, is sitting up by herself and is on the peak of being able to crawl. She wants to so bad but is not coordinated enough. We’ll sit her down with toys around to play, and every so often she falls over and lays down. She can’t sit up by herself yet, so after laying for a while she’ll begin to whine and call for us. “Mom! Dad! I’ve fallen and I can’t get back up! Heeeelp” Granted it’s all in baby talk, but that’s what it means translated.
Life is ridiculous. It’s hard, it’s unfair, and it’s always full of surprises. Just when you think things are going as planned, a curve ball slams you in the face. I honestly feel bad for people who don’t have a relationship with Jesus. How do you navigate through the hard times without the peace of God? What hope do you have besides what you can accomplish on your own? I’m so thankful for the grace of God. I’m thankful that no matter what life throws at me, my foundation, my assurance, my hope is in Jesus.
The fact is, when you serve God you have an advantage that non-believers don’t - you have the most powerful being in the universe on your side. We don’t always know the whys or how comes or even the timing, but God is good. The nature, the very core of who God is is love and goodness. Today’s Psalm is a promise from God. “I will rescue those who love me.” God said that; to you! He made that promise to you, and he never breaks a promises. Whether you’re going through the dumps now or one is right around the corner, trust and rely on God’s strength. Lean into it. Remind God of the promise He made to you and let that be your source of hope. Chloe knows that when she calls on her mom and dad for help, we'll be there. Our God is good! Thank you Lord for being our breath of life!
